TORONTO -- World champion Eve Muirhead of Scotland is into the final of the Players' Championship curling event.

Muirhead rallied to beat Stefanie Lawton 6-5 in extra ends Saturday and will face Sweden's Margaretha Sigfridsson in the final Sunday. Sigfridsson moved on after stunning Winnipeg's Jennifer Jones 8-4 in the other semifinal.

Muirhead trailed Lawton 5-2 after the Saskatoon skip scored three in the sixth end. But Muirhead charged back with a single in the seventh end and two more in the eighth to force an extra end.

Sigfridsson meanwhile was all over Jones, scoring three points in the third end and three more in the fifth. Jones shook hands after six ends.

On the men's side, Glenn Howard of Coldwater, Ont., and Winnipeg's Mike McEwen will meet in the final.

Howard advanced with a 6-3 victory over Brad Jacobs of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., while McEwen scored two points in the seventh end to defeat Jeff Stoughton of Winnipeg 5-2.
