Both teams had successful regular seasons. Both teams survived scares in the playoffs.
Both teams have solid goaltending, steady defence and plenty of offence. Both teams have won the Stanley Cup in the last three years.
The Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins have a lot in common but only one team will be crowned this year's Stanley Cup champion.
Which team do you think will win the Stanley Cup?
The Blackhawks, who won the Stanley Cup in 2010, got off to a record-breaking start this season and cruised to the top seed in the Western Conference.
The Minnesota Wild didn't pose much of a threat in the first round but the Detroit Red Wings proved to be a wake-up call for the Blackhawks.
Heading into Game 5 of the series, captain Jonathan Toews and company were facing elimination but responded with three straight wins and a berth in the Western Conference Final.
That seemed to spark the Presidents' Trophy winners as they solved Jonathan Quick and the defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings in five games.
The Bruins, who won the Stanley Cup in 2011, were almost eliminated by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round. Midway through the third period, the Bruins trailed 4-1 and seemed destined to waste a 3-1 series lead when Nathan Horton scored to breathe life into the TD Bank Garden.
With less than two minutes remaining and the goalie pulled, the Bruins scored twice more to force overtime and then completed the comeback early in the extra frame.
From there, the Bruins have been on cruise control, ousting the New York Rangers in the second round and then dominating the Pittsburgh Penguins in a four-game sweep.
So both teams have been given their wake-up call and responded in impressive fashion. But now the immovable object meets the irresistible force.
Something has to give. Which team do you think will win the Stanley Cup?
As always, It's Your! Call.
