BC Lions QBs
The B.C. Lions are celebrating their 60th year in the CFL in 2013 and without question their franchise player is QB Travis Lulay. The Lions know a winner when they see one and made sure Lulay is going to be a part of their next 60 years with a brand new contract extension.
He's exactly what you look for in a leader and professional athlete as a whole. He's tough, durable, mobile, intelligent, talented, humble, and hard working. He's engaging off the field and gets the importance of giving back and paying it forward.
So with all that said, you would think all is well in the BC quarterbacking world. Nope, not really. Why? Because they are one play away from inexperience and paring down the offensive playbook if Lulay goes down.
Thomas DeMarco (alias, Little Dunigan) has shown dynamite does come in small packages and has the edge to be the guy one play away from leading the offence. But the apprehension and anxiety kicks in when you look at his body of work which consists of just 13 passing attempts in his CFL career. Now I have said it before: you have to play the game in order to learn the game. DeMarco is poised to be the next guy to get that opportunity.
The acquisition of Joey Elliott, a recent castoff from the Bombers organization, was an extremely intelligent and prudent hire. Joey's resume boasts 371 attempts in his time on the CFL grid iron. He's confident and provides a bit of an insurance policy for the Lions offense. A change of scenery for Joey could be exactly what the doctor ordered! Time will tell.
A diamond in the rough maybe amongst us and this his name is Chris Hart; a phenomenal athlete that's in the process of earning his stripes and the CFL game.
