CFL on TSN analyst Matt Dunigan breaks down the quarterback situation for each team heading into the 2012 regular season.

Buck Pierce, New Mexico State (8th CFL/3rd Winnipeg)

How can you not pull for a guy like this? A true warrior, that has no regard for his body and leaves it all on the field everytime he plays.

Pierce led his team to the Grey Cup in 2011 with an offense that never really hit it's stride with any consistency. I believe that as things unfold in 2012, new offensive coordinator Gary Crowton will be one of the most talked about additions across the league and be instrumental for Pierce achieving his full potential. Look for Pierce to have career numbers in 2012.

Joey Elliott, Purdue (3rd CFL/3rd Winnipeg)

Rebounding from a freakish injury sustained last year versus Calgary, Elliott has plenty of fire and ability to make some heads turn in Winnipeg. His preseason has been a very telling one on two accounts.

First, Joey has shown he has the ability and confidence to play this game. And second, he has shown that his knee may not yet be 100% and where it needs to be so he can achieve his true potential.

Alex Brink, Washington State (3rd CFL/3rd Winnipeg)

Brink continues to make huge strides forward in his understanding of this great CFL game. It was just about two years ago he endured one of the toughest outings I've witnessed in my 29 years being involved with this league. A truly humbling and defining moment in his young career. Most QBs would have folded, not Brink.

He continues to improve and impress along the way. Hats off to another true warrior! His play this preseason has been much improved, yet again, as he continues to digest this game and show he belongs.

Rounding out the stable of QB's in the 'Peg is Justin Goltz, Occidental (3rd CFL/3rd Winnipeg) Justin has become an insurance policy for the Bombers. Called back to Bomberville after the QBs started dropping like flies in 2011, Goltz played well enough to be invited back this season in a similar role.
