OTTAWA -- Guelph Gryphons receiver Mackenzie Morrison received a two-year suspension Thursday for a doping offence.

The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport announced Morrison, of Acton, Ont., had tested positive for tamoxifen, an estrogen receptor modulator.

The CCES also stated the second-year player waived his right to a hearing, acknowledged the violation and accepted the suspension, which is through Dec. 5, 2015.

"We are disappointed by this situation," said Tom Kendall, the University of Guelph's Director of Athletics. "We support the Canadian Anti-Doping Program and we will remain vigilant in our efforts to prevent this from happening again."
