SYDNEY, N.S. - Jean-Francois Plante completed his hat trick with an empty-net goal as the Sherbrooke Phoenix won their second in a row, 6-4 over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on Wednesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.
Simon Desbiens snapped a 4-4 tie 7:34 into the third period for Sherbrooke (6-11-2), while Jean-Christophe Laflamme and Tim Wieser also scored. The Phoenix went 3 for 3 on the power play.
Francis Desrosiers stopped 24 shots for the win.
Kyle Farrell scored the first of his two goals for Cape Breton (8-8-2) 47 seconds into the contest. Cameron Darcy and William Carrier completed the scoring for the Screaming Eagles, who lost their third in a row.
The Eagles were 0-for-3 with the man advantage.
Alex Bureau made 18 saves for Cape Breton.

QUEBEC CITY — Zachery Moody had the only goal of the shootout, and also scored in regulation, as the Remparts escaped with a 6-5 victory over Baie-Comeau.
Jeremy Gregoire tied the game for Baie-Comeau (12-5-2) at 19:58 of the third period. Gabryel Paquin-Boudreau had a pair of goals, while Nicholas Halagian and Dominic Poulin also scored. Simon Lemieux made 24 saves for the win.
Fabrice Herzog scored twice for Quebec (9-5-4), with Kurt Etchegary and Anthony Duclair completing the scoring.
Francois Brassard stopped 10 of 13 shots for the Remparts in the opening period, and Callum Booth went the rest of the way, turning back 14 of 16 shots.

GATINEAU, Que. — Taylor Burker scored short handed, and on the power play, to help the Olympiques to a 5-2 victory over Halifax.
Vincent Dunn, Elie Berube and Vaclav Karabacek also scored for Gatineau (13-6-0), which converted 3-of-6 power-play opportunities.
Robert Steeves stopped 27 shots for the Olympiques.
Darcy Ashley and Andrew Ryan had power-play goals for Halifax (12-8-0). Zachary Fucale made 22 saves for the Mooseheads.
