Reid Boucher has something Steve Stamkos doesn't. The Sarnia Sting's single-season goal record.

The 19-year-old forward scored three times as Sarnia defeated the host Saginaw Spirit 8-7 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Boucher now has 60 goals in only 63 games, which surpasses Stamkos' previous mark of 58 set in 2007-08. In total, Boucher has 91 points this season and sits fourth OHL scoring.

Craig Duininck had a goal and an assist for the Sting (34-25-4) while Charles Sarault, Tyler Hore, Anthony DeAngelo Bryan Moore and Nickolas Latta had two assists apiece.

Sarault now has 22 goals and 102 points in 63 contests, which leads the OHL.

Mike Dipaolo, Daniel Nikandrov, Alex Carnevale and Nikolay Goldobin each scored once to round out Sarnia's offence.

DiPaolo's goal was the first of his OHL career in 52 games played.

Jimmy Lodge scored twice for the Spirit (29-26-6), who are winless in three games, and Eric Locke had three assists.

Gregg Sutch, Zach Bratina and Garret Ross had a goal and an assist apiece for Saginaw and Terry Trafford and Brandon Lindberg added single goals.

Knickolas Dawe made 38 saves for the Sting as Jake Paterson allowed eight goals on 17 shots in 40 minutes of action for the Spirit. Nikita Serebryakov replaced Paterson to start the third period and stopped all four shots he faced in relief.

Sarnia went 3 for 6 on the power play while Saginaw scored twice on three chances with the man advantage.

Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Erie 5, Windsor 4 (OT); Niagara 5, Belleville 4 (OT) and Owen Sound 6, Mississauga 1.

At Saginaw, Mich., Duininck opened the scoring 2:12 into the first period for Sarnia, but Ross scored at 7:30 and Lindberg followed to give the Spirit a 2-1 lead.

Dipaolo scored 43 seconds after Lindberg to make it 2-2 after 20 minutes of play.

Lodge and Boucher traded goals early in the second period before Bratina and Trafford scored six seconds apart to give Saginaw a 5-3 advantage at 9:52.

The Sting, however, responded with five straight goals in the final seven minutes of the second to take an 8-5 lead into the final period.

Carnevale scored at 13:06 and Boucher tied the game at 15:18.

Goldobin regained the lead for Sarnia while Nikandrov and Boucher added two more goals 21 seconds apart in the final minute of the period.

Lodge brought Saginaw within two goals at 9:03 of the third period, and Sutch scored with less than four minutes remaining to make it 8-7.
