Tigres trade centre Danault to Wildcats for winger Gagne

The Victoriaville Tigres have traded centre Phillip Danault to the Moncton Wildcats in exchange for right winger Gabriel Gagne in the QMJHL.

The Tigres also receive a first round pick in the 2014 QMJHL Entry Draft, as well as a first and second round pick in 2015.

Danault recently returned home following his efforts with Team Canada at the world junior hockey championship, where he registered one assist in six games.

Through 29 games with the Tigres this season, the 19-year-old as 14 goals and 30 assist.

Danault was chosen by the Tigres in the first round, ninth overall, of the 2009 QMJHL Entry Draft. In 2011, he was selected 26th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL Entry Draft.

Moncton sits in second to the Maritimes Division, 18 points behind the powerful Halifax Mooseheads, while the Tigres sit in fifth place in the East Division.
