The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced they have agreed to terms with former Hamilton Tiger-Cats head coach George Cortez to become the team's offensive coordinator on Monday.

Cortez returned to the CFL last year as Hamilton's head coach and director of football operations after two years with the Buffalo Bills as quarterbacks coach. In Cortez's one season with the Ticats, the team missed the playoffs after finishing with a 6-12 record.

Cortez has won four Grey Cups as an assistant coach throughout his career in the CFL.

Last season's offensive coordinator Bob Dyce will remain on staff.
