The Ottawa Redblacks added a trio of import defensive players on Tuesday.

The first-year franchise signed linebackers Brandon Denson and Jasper Simmons as well as defensive back Reggie Jones.

Denson played his college football at Michigan State and has CFL experience, most recently with the Montreal Alouettes practice roster last year.

Simmons, a 24-year-old from Pensacola, Florida, spent the last two seasons as a member of the Toronto Argonauts, tallying an interception in each season.

Jones, a 27-year-old from Bellevue, Washington, comes to the CFL's newest franchise after spending parts of the past five seasons with New Orleans, Washington, Minnesota and Dallas of the NFL.

The additions give the Redblacks 43 players on their roster, including 20 Canadians and 23 imports.
