Adrian McPherson's stint in the CFL appears to be over.

The long-time understudy to Anthony Calvillo in Montreal has signed with the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League.

McPherson, 29, spent time in the AFL prior to joining the Alouettes in 2008.

In five years in the CFL, McPherson threw for 1,505 yards, 10 touchdowns and six interceptions. The mobile signal-caller also rushed for more than 1,000 yards and 20 touchdowns. The Florida State product threw for 195 yards and one touchdown in limited duty last season.

McPherson appeared at one point to be the eventual successor to future Hall-of-Famer Anthony Calvillo in Montreal but the team decided to sign former Hamilton Tiger-Cats backup Quinton Porter and allow McPherson to hit the free agent market this off-season.
