Free agent safety Cauchy Muamba agreed to terms with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old played three seasons with the B.C. Lions before becoming a free agent last week.

"We are very pleased to lock up a Canadian player with Cauchy's ability and potential. We feel he will add immediate depth to our roster and also an added locker room presence with his brother Henoc already in our organization and a big part of our defence," said Blue Bombers general manager Joe Mack.

Last season, the St. Francis Xavier product registered 41 defensive tackles and two interceptions.
