As the CFL regular season enters its final week, the MOP Watch takes a closer look at the leading candidates for the league's Most Outstanding Player Award.

Jon Cornish, RB - Calgary Stampeders

Jon Cornish 2013: Cornish has to be considered the favourite for Most Outstanding Player this season. The New Westminster, BC native broke his own record for most rushing yards in a single season by a non-import in Week 16 and is the main catalyst for the Stampeders' league-leading record. Kory Sheets says he's the better rusher of the two, the numbers tell a different story, at least this season.

Week 18: Cornish outdueled Sheets in a matchup of arguably the two best backs in the league, rushing for 109 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries, and helping the Stampeders clinch first in the West Division.

Kory Sheets, RB - Saskatchewan Roughriders

Kory Sheets 2013: Kory Sheets seemed well on his way to breaking the CFL's single season rushing record before injury hit. The sophomore tailback is now in a fight for the rushing lead with Calgary's Jon Cornish, and no longer the clearcut frontrunners for Most Outstanding Player he appeared to be in the first half of the season.

Week 18: Going head-to-head with Cornish, the back Sheets earlier claimed he's batter than, the Roughrider runner fell short with only 42 yards on 11 carries. Sakskatchewan lost the game as well, ensuring they will finish second in the West behind Calgary.

Henry Burris, QB - Hamilton Tiger-Cats

Henry Burris 2013: Henry Burris' stats are definitely worthy of Most Outstanding Player consideration (he leads the league in passing and should eclipse 5,000 yards on the season) but the Tiger-Cats have hung around .500 all season, hurting the veteran QB's chances for the award. Burris also loses red zone TD opportunities to Dan LeFevour, and has been on a cold streak at the most inopportune time - late in the season.

Week 18: Burris' cold streak continued in Week 18 with a 16-23 performance for 163 yards and an interception. Jeremiah Masoli had the better day behind centre for Hamilton in their crucial come-from-behind win over the Alouettes, securing a home playoff date.

Ricky Ray, QB - Toronto Argonauts

Ricky Ray 2013: It's a shame Ray was injured midway through the year because prior to his shoulder woes he was playing otherworldly. A near 80 percent completion percentage and 15 touchdowns to zero interceptions is almost unheard of. The Argos did well with Zach Collaros filling in but Ray's shoulder injury robbed fans of a potential all-time great season by a CFL QB.

Week 18: One week after looking just okay in their win against Winnipeg, Ray and the Argos made quick work of the Blue Bombers in Week 18. Ray had a great game, throwing for 505 yards and three touchdowns.

Darian Durant, QB - Saskatchewan Roughriders

Darian Durant 2013: Durant's season has gone much like the Roughriders' in whole. The veteran QB had a terrific first half and was one of only a few players deserving of strong MOP consideration. But his play the second half, much like the Riders in general, has been uneven. Saskatchewan still has an outside shot at winning the West and that might be what it takes for Durant to return to his first half level of MOP consideration.

Week 18: Durant had a decent game against Calgary in Week 18 but it wasn't enough to propel the Roughriders to victory. If Saskatchewan can get by BC in the West Semi-Final they will have another shot at Calgary, that time with a Grey Cup appearance on the line.
