I think I just finally dried out.

When you plan a live event, rain or shine, sometimes it rains! That's the lesson we learned in Port Dover, Ontario, on Saturday for stop number 2 on the Kraft Celebration Tour.

But here's the good news: The rain could not dampen the spirits of the incredible people who showed up to watch Sportscentre Live. The event wasn't a wash out. In fact, early in the day the weather was looking very good! Hundreds of kids packed Silver Lake Park to play football, lacrosse and enjoy milk through Oreo ''Sippers'' (The secret? Dip them in milk and they get even CRUNCHIER!)

And the signs! So many great signs were brought to the event including such favourites as: ''WHERE IS PRODUCER TIM?'' and ''KATE BEIRNESS, WILL YOU MARRY ME?'' (She won't). The event was a success, despite the bad weather, and a big thank you goes out to Rick Wamsley and Megan Timpf for MC'ing the event.

The $25,000 Kraft Community Refresh will go to the Port Dover Sports Complex to install new outdoor lighting. The lighting will allow Port Dover residents to play tennis, ball hockey and skateboard well into the evening. The skateboard park was a big focus of our feature story about the event and a few future Tony Hawks showed up.

All in all, a big thanks to EVERYONE in Port Dover for a wonderful time.

We're just about to board a flight to Winnipeg and then it's off to Pinawa, MB for stop number 4 on the Tour. Don't forget to check out Dutch and Jen from Pictou, NS, tonight!

Round 2 continues with San Jose's Dan Boyle taking on Kari Lehtonen of the Dallas Stars.
