Potential Non-Import Starting Positions
4 offensive linemen, 2 receivers, middle linebacker, and free safety

Key Canadian Arrivals
FS Cauchy Muamba, OL Mark DeWit, and DT Ryan Lucas signed as free agents. P Brett Cameron was signed as an undrafted free agent after completing his final year at North Dakota.

Key Canadian Departures
FS Ian Logan was released to make room for Cauchy Muamba. DE Fernand Kashama remains unsigned after heading to free agency.

In The Pipeline
WR/DB Johnny Aprile and potentially DT Christo Bilukidi

Draft Needs
Defensive line help is the most urgent need. Aprile could help add the necessary depth at either receiver or free safety with the team looking to address the other position via the draft.

2013 Draft Selections
2nd, 11th, 20th, 29th, 46th, 54th

Early Round Picks (2008-2012)
2008: OL Brendon LaBatte (6th), WR Aaron Hargreaves (15th)
2009: None
2010: SB Cory Watson (9th)
2011: LB Henoc Muamba (1st), WR Jade Etienne (4th)
2012: OL Tyson Pencer (3rd), WR Kito Poblah (1st Round in '11 Supplemental Draft)

Best Late Round Pick (2008-2012)
Chris Greaves was a defensive lineman through his entire CIS career but the Bombers envisioned him on the other side of the ball when they grabbed him in the sixth round (45th overall) in 2010. After a two-year apprenticeship, he became a full-time starter on Winnipeg's O-Line last season.

Quirky Draft Fact
Eighteen players originally drafted by Winnipeg between 2008 and 2012 are currently under contract to CFL teams. Nine of them were drafted in Rounds 1 through 3 and the other nine were drafted in Rounds 4 through 6. The good news is that the team's success rate in terms of drafting CFL players is as good in the back half of the draft as it is in the first half. The bad news is that the team's success rate in terms of drafting CFL players is as good in the back half of the draft as it is in the first half. In all seriousness, my analysis is that the Bombers traded away several high picks prior to 2010, thus creating a window spanning a few years before and after 2010 where there has been a greater opportunity for late rounders to make the team.
