It's the simple pleasures in life that make it all worthwhile and sadly, an electric snowblower purchased solely for the backyard rink ranks high on my list of "simple pleasures."
Brooklin, Ontario got hammered this weekend with several inches of snow. It was light and fluffy, but as you can see from the latest picture in my gallery, as much as one foot accumulated on the rink.
Historically, this type of snowfall equates to two-plus hours of shovelling and two-plus days of back spasms.
The pint-sized blowers maiden voyage cut the clean-up time in half and required minimal shovelling to get the rink back in shape.
Managing the power cord is the only inconvenience and that's minimal. It certainly provides a better option than risking oil or gas leaks from the old snowblower used in the front.
All is good.
We're a two snowblower family and I've never been happier.
