For those of you who are unfamiliar with ‘League of Legends’, it’s a third-person multiplayer online battle arena game where teams compete in matches that last around 20-60 minutes. It became an instant hit and has become one of the largest eSports in the world, hosting various tournaments worldwide. On top of that, you can even bet on these tournaments and can make your own lineups on Draft Kings. If that’s not enough to convince you that eSports are on the rise, perhaps this will. Former NBA forward and 3-time NBA champion Rick Fox appears to be a big fan of eSports and has bought into the craze. On Friday, it was announced that Fox had purchased the League of Legends team called Gravity Gaming for the price of $1 million USD. Yes, $1 million USD.
The team will no longer be known as Gravity Gaming, as Fox plans on changing the name to Echo Fox.

The team made two top six finishes in the spring and summer seasons, but failed to qualify for the world championship.
