The Grand Rapids Griffins advanced to the Calder Cup Final on Wednesday night with a 5-4 victory over the Oklahoma City Barons in Game 7 of their Western Conference final series.

It will be the first Calder Cup appearance for the Griffins, the top affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings. They will face the Syracuse Crunch, the top farm club of the Tampa Bay Lightning, in the final beginning Saturday.

Jan Mursak scored twice for the Griffins and Petr Mrazek made 35 saves on home ice to lead Grand Rapids to the win.

Syracuse wrapped up a five-game win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to capture the Eastern Conference title and advance to the championship series.
