Canadiens' Emelin out six months after ACL, MCL surgery

Hall of Fame goalie Patrick Roy is reportedly on the verge of being the next head coach of the Colorado Avalanche. A report posted on the Denver Post's website Monday night says Roy's younger brother Stephane leaked the impending announcement. The organization remains silent on the report, saying that the Avs, "won't comment on any speculation on this issue." Full Story.

Kid's Street

A stretch of road in front of the stadium where he began his Hall of Fame career has been renamed in honour of former Montreal Expos catcher Gary Carter. Signs indicating Rue Gary-Carter were already in place on Tuesday as municipal officials announced the renaming of Faillon Street West outside of what used to be Jarry Park after the most popular player in the history of the defunct National League baseball club.
