Schultz Picks: Montreal

World Picks: 54.3% - Montreal
MTL 23 TOR 20.
Montreal Wins.

Ricky Ray will not play and that is the right thing to do. Could you imagine if Ray did play, even for a quarter, and Shea Emery had a chance to take a shot, took it, and Ray could not play come November 17? Not going to happen. Montreal's last game - the 27-24 loss at the University of Guelph - was so close to a blowout for the Alouettes. SJ Green played well, Duron Carter played well - a lot of players for Montreal played well. Toronto will keep risk/reward to a minimum but I don't think the Als will. They need a win going into Hamilton and if they get it over a Zach Collaros-led team or a Ricky Ray-lead team, who cares. Montreal is the most dangerous team entering the playoff of the six clubs involved. The season has been on long adversity test and here they are. Three games away from winning the Grey Cup. With nothing to lose, I like Montreal. Als win.

Schultz Picks: Calgary

World Picks: 51.2% - B.C.
CGY 7 BC 26.
B.C. Wins.

Just like Toronto, I doubt you will see any health risk to players taken by head coach John Hufnagel. And on the opposite side with BC, I am not sure how they will approach this game. At 10-7, the best they could do is tie the Riders for second but does not mean anything. I think the depth at quarterback makes the difference for Calgary. Whether it is Glen, Tate or Mitchell or a combination of all three, I like the Stampeders to end the season 15-3 - a great winning season. I wonder if those in charge will let Jon Cornish go for any record he desires. I think they will. Calgary over BC.

Schultz Picks: Hamilton

World Picks: 73.5% - Hamilton
HAM 37 WPG 7.
Hamilton Wins.

The Ticats did not play well last week. They need a confident win to head back home and play confident football and they should get it because I have to assume that the Bombers want to see new players as much as any veteran performers. The 2014 season started last week in Winnipeg and continues this week at Investors Group Field. The good thing is that if they lose the last two in a row, it is not on the win-lose for next year. It's kind of an unusual opportunity here for the football team to evaluate, decide and conclude about the most important aspect of any team - the players on the field. Hamilton ends the season 10-8 and Winnipeg 3-15. Ticats in a close one.

Schultz Picks: Saskatchewan

World Picks: 81.6% - Saskatchewan
EDM 30 SSK 26.
Edmonton Wins.

Decisions, decisions, decisions. A lot of them to be made this off-season with Edmonton and this is the last time to see the on field talent to make those decisions. One I would make now is give Mike Reilly the first half and that is it. He's too valuable for 2014 and years beyond. Both Winnipeg and Edmonton could finish 3-15, but I am more optimistic for future fast success in Edmonton than Winnipeg. The Eskimos lost a lot of close games, have a future quarterback and two good linebackers in JC Sherritt and Rennie Curran. Winnipeg, with too many blowout games, need to find a quarterback and could lose Henoc Muamba to free agency (Ottawa). Either way, I figure the Riders win by three and finish 12-6. Riders.

Through 72 games, Schultz is 43-29. The World is 50-22.
The World currently leads with 50 wins.
